Journey to Bethlehem-01Sermons Series – The Journey to Bethlehem

As a community, we will take “The Journey” with Mary, Joseph, Elizabeth, the shepherds in order to understand more about the historical and geographical aspects of the story and how this knowledge can inspire us to our own questions about our life journeys.  You can expect to deepen your understanding of the context of the story of the birth of Christ while deepening your own spiritual quest for new life in Christ.

Advent Activities

hanging of the greens-01Saturday, December 2 – Hanging of the Greens is December 2   10:00 AM
This is the day that all of the pre-made pieces are installed in the sanctuary and around the church. This is a church-wide event, supported by the members of the Board of Deacons and the Board of Music & Arts. Please contact the project coordinator to let us know that you will join us to “dress the house” on December 2. Slide17Sunday, December 3 – Advent Workshop and Brunch   12:30 PM
Brought to you by Countryside’s Family Activities Committee, will be held on Sunday, December 3, in Memorial Hall directly following the second service.  You’ll not want to miss this fun-filled, warm-hearted fellowship event (to say nothing about the delicious food).  I’ve heard rumor that perhaps the Jolly Old Elf himself will show up!  There will be holiday crafts for the kiddos and coffee, food and fellowship for the adults.  You will also have the opportunity to greet New Members.  Your free will offering is greatly appreciated!  Sign up today at the Information Station so we know you’ll be there.

6:00-7:00 PM Beginning at 6 PM, the staff will open their offices and provide light hors d’oeuvres for a progressive open house. Simply start at one of the staff offices and progress through the building until you have visited everyone! Jingle and mingle as you are able, but the rule is NO SHOP TALK! No boards, no budgets, no matching funds – just enjoy each other’s company!

Christmas Jazz Coffeehouse – December 9   7:00 PM
Our annual Jazz Coffeehouse will take place in Common Grounds at 7:00 PM on December 9, directly following the staff open house. Children are always, always welcomed to be in the audience, but if you would like a child-free hour to enjoy the soulful sounds of these holy-days, there is now CHILDCARE AVAILABLE! Childcare will be provided in the nursery for a nominal fee of $5 per child from 7:00 to 8:00 PM.
